Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process

Every manuscript submitted to AURORA undergoes a double-blind peer review, following these steps:

  1. Initial screening by the editor for scope fit, formatting compliance, and originality (via similarity-checking software).
  2. Assignment to at least two reviewers with relevant expertise; author and reviewer identities remain anonymous to each other.
  3. Review period of up to 2-4 weeks, assessing relevance, methodology, community impact, and scientific contribution.
  4. Editorial decision: accepted, minor revision, major revision, or rejected, based on reviewer recommendations.
  5. Author revision and final editorial verification before the manuscript proceeds to copyediting, layout, and publication.

AURORA follows the ethical guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) throughout the review process.
