AUTHOR GUIDELINES

All manuscripts submitted for consideration by the Journal of Accounting, Management, and Economics (AME) must fully comply with the journal's author guidelines, aims and scope, publication ethics, and peer-review policies.
Articles should be written in clear, concise, and accurate academic English. Authors may use either British or American English, but the chosen style must be applied consistently throughout the manuscript. Authors are responsible for carefully proofreading their manuscripts before submission. The Editors reserve the right to make minor editorial and language adjustments to ensure clarity, consistency, and conformity with the journal's style.
Manuscripts must be prepared using the official AME Manuscript Template and submitted through the journal's online submission system. The submission file should be in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format. Authors are strongly encouraged to use the official journal template when preparing their manuscripts.
The manuscript should use the formatting specifications provided in the official template. Tables, figures, equations, and other supporting materials must be incorporated into the main manuscript at their appropriate positions and should not be submitted separately unless specifically requested by the Editors.
Research articles should normally contain 6,000–10,000 words, including the main text, tables, figures, and references. Authors should ensure that the manuscript provides sufficient depth of theoretical development, methodological explanation, analysis, and discussion to demonstrate a clear scholarly contribution.

The Blinded Manuscript must not contain information that directly identifies the authors. This includes author names, affiliations, acknowledgements, author biographies, identifying funding information, and other information that could reasonably reveal authorship.
All author information should appear only in the Title Page.
Authors must ensure that all required information is completed accurately in the appropriate file before submission.

Manuscript Quality and Review Criteria

Manuscripts are evaluated according to their scholarly quality, originality, methodological rigor, and contribution to the relevant literature. Key considerations include:

Is the manuscript within the journal's aims and scope?
Is the research problem clearly identified and significant?
Are the research objectives and/or questions clearly formulated?
Is the theoretical foundation appropriate and sufficiently developed?
Does the manuscript demonstrate a clear research gap and scholarly contribution?
Are the research design, methods, procedures, and analytical techniques appropriate to the research objectives?
Are the data and analysis presented accurately and transparently?
Are the findings adequately interpreted and supported by the evidence?
Does the discussion engage meaningfully with relevant and recent literature?
Are the conclusions justified by the findings?
Does the manuscript provide meaningful theoretical, methodological, practical, or policy implications?
Are the sources appropriately cited and sufficiently relevant to the study?

Authors are expected to demonstrate a strong understanding of the relevant knowledge base and theoretical foundations of their research. The manuscript should clearly explain what is already known, what remains unresolved, what the study does differently, and how the findings advance existing knowledge.
A clear and substantive contribution to the literature is essential for publication in AME.

Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should present a coherent scholarly structure. For original research articles, the manuscript should normally include:

The title should be concise, informative, specific, and accurately reflect the main subject and contribution of the study.
The abstract should briefly present the purpose or research problem, methodology, principal findings, implications, and originality or value of the study. The abstract should normally contain 150–250 words.
The keywords should consist of 3–6 relevant terms or phrases that accurately represent the content of the manuscript and facilitate scholarly indexing and discovery.
The introduction should establish the research context, significant problem, relevant literature, research gap, objectives or research questions, and principal contribution of the study.
The literature review and theoretical framework should critically engage with relevant scholarship, establish the theoretical foundation of the study, identify unresolved issues, and demonstrate how the research extends or challenges existing knowledge.
The methodology should clearly describe the research design, data or participants, sampling procedures, measurement or instruments, data collection, analytical procedures, and relevant ethical considerations. The methodology must be appropriate to the research objectives and questions.
The results should present the principal findings clearly and systematically. Tables and figures should complement rather than duplicate the main text.
The discussion should interpret the findings in relation to the research questions, theoretical framework, and relevant literature. Authors should clearly explain the theoretical, practical, managerial, or policy significance of the findings where appropriate.
The conclusion should address the research objectives and summarise the principal findings and contributions. Authors should also identify relevant implications, limitations, and directions for future research.

References

All sources cited in the manuscript must appear in the reference list, and all references listed must be cited in the manuscript.
AME uses the APA 7th edition referencing style. Authors should prioritize relevant, high-quality, peer-reviewed scholarly sources and include recent literature where appropriate. Seminal references should be retained where they are important to the theoretical foundation of the study.
Authors should provide DOIs or persistent links for references where available and are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all bibliographic information.

Originality and Ethical Compliance

Submitted manuscripts must be original, must not have been published previously, and must not be under consideration by another journal or publication outlet.
If the manuscript, or a substantial part of it, has previously appeared in another form, authors must provide a clear explanation to the Editor at the time of submission.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts comply with accepted standards of research and publication integrity. Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabrication, falsification, inappropriate manipulation of data or images, citation manipulation, ghost authorship, guest authorship, and undisclosed conflicts of interest are not acceptable.
All listed authors must have made a meaningful scholarly contribution to the work, must approve the submitted manuscript, and must accept responsibility for the integrity of the research.

Research Ethics

Authors must comply with applicable ethical standards and institutional requirements when conducting research involving human participants, personal data, sensitive information, or other ethically regulated activities.
Where applicable, manuscripts should provide information concerning ethical approval, informed consent, participant protection, and data confidentiality.
The journal may request supporting documentation concerning research ethics where necessary.

Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools

Authors must disclose the use of generative artificial intelligence and AI-assisted technologies when such tools have substantially contributed to drafting, editing, translation, data processing, coding, analysis, or content generation.
AI tools must not be listed as authors.
Authors remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, validity, integrity, and ethical compliance of their manuscripts. AI-generated or AI-assisted content must be carefully reviewed and verified by the authors, and all factual claims, interpretations, citations, and conclusions remain the responsibility of the authors.
AI tools must not be used to fabricate data, references, research findings, or other scholarly content.

Data Availability and Research Transparency

Authors are encouraged to provide appropriate information regarding the availability of research data, analytical code, research instruments, and other supporting materials where ethically, legally, and practically possible.
Any restrictions concerning access to research data should be clearly explained where relevant.

Conflict of Interest and Funding

Authors must disclose any financial, professional, institutional, personal, or other relationships that could influence or reasonably be perceived to influence the research.
All sources of financial or institutional support for the research must also be disclosed.
Where no conflict of interest exists, authors should state that there is no conflict of interest to declare.

Manuscript Revision

When revisions are requested, authors should submit a revised manuscript together with a point-by-point response to the reviewers' comments.
Authors should clearly explain how each substantive comment has been addressed. Where an author does not agree with a reviewer recommendation, a clear scholarly justification should be provided.
Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation.

Authors should ensure that the manuscript has been prepared using the official AME template and that all required submission files and declarations have been completed.
