Bibliometric analysis of employee performance using VOSviewer
Keywords:
Employee Performance, Bibliometrics, VOSviewerAbstract
This study aims to analyze research trends related to employee performance using a bibliometric approach based on data from Google Scholar. Data were collected using the Publish or Perish software and analyzed using VOSviewer to visualize thematic patterns, temporal trends, and research clusters. A total of 999 articles published between 2019 and 2024 were analyzed based on their titles, keywords, and abstracts. The results show that the COVID-19 pandemic was the dominant topic in the literature, with a focus on adaptation to remote work (Work From Home), organizational readiness, and employee loyalty. Network visualization identified five main clusters, while overlay visualization showed a shift in research focus from the impact of the pandemic toward more strategic human resource management. Density visualization revealed a high intensity of the keywords “pandemic” and “WFH,” reflecting the urgency of research on global change. This study makes a significant contribution to understanding the dynamics of employee-performance research, particularly in the context of changes in the work environment triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to providing an overview of research trends, these results can serve as a reference for academics, practitioners, and policymakers in formulating evidence-based strategies to effectively improve employee performance. The bibliometric approach used demonstrates considerable potential for analyzing research trends and supporting more informed decision-making.
